Lazarus has extensive experience as Company Secretary and Legal Counsel in the corporate field with speciality in insurance, banking, retail, telecommunications and energy sectors. He started off his career in private practice with Mandizha & Company Legal Practitioners and subsequently held middle and senior management positions in various organisations including: Nicoz Diamond Insurance Ltd; Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe; Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe; and OK Zimbabwe Ltd. He has also worked as the Company Secretary and Legal Advisor for Powertel Communications (Pvt) Ltd for close to a decade before joining ZESA Holdings (Pvt) Ltd as the Acting Group Legal Advisor and Corporate Secretary for more than three years before reverting to Powertel. As a Company Secretary, he has worked with various Boards of Directors and garnered extensive experience in the fields of corporate law and corporate governance. He is a registered Legal Practitioner, Notary Public and Conveyancer. He is also a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe and a former non-executive Chairman of WealthAccess Securities (Pvt) Ltd.
